Who I am
I am a Brazilian PhD candidate working in German academia. I come from a small 1.000.000 inhabitants town in Northeast Brazil called Natal (it means Christmas in Portuguese). In Natal, I learned the perks and pleasures of living in a place with basically no funding for the arts. The lack of financial support means that artists collectively build their own spaces, festivals, and parties, resulting in the most creative music scenes I have ever encountered. I have written my Master’s thesis on bands composed only by women in Natal’s rock scene (including my own band at the time, demonia), which was published as an e-book by the Publisher of the State University of Rio Grande do Norte. I am currently on the last writing phase of my upcoming PhD thesis titled “Playing with In-game Concerts: Ludomusical Performance, Scenes and Hyperpop”.
I live in and love the beautiful town of Oldenburg.
